University of Alabama students received an email in the early hours of Sunday morning, informing them of a reported on-campus robbery. 

According to the email, at 2:40 a.m. UAPD responded to a reported robbery on Colonial Drive near Bryant-Denny Stadium.

“The suspect approached the victim demanding money, threatening them with a boxcutter,” the email read. “The suspect was described as a male with dark complexion, possibly in his early 40s, wearing a blue shirt and gray pants. The victim was not injured.”

Anyone with additional information about the robbery is asked to report it to UAPD at 348-5454 or Crime Stoppers at 752-7867(STOP).

The email went on to provide students and community members with the following safety considerations: 

– Be careful and mindful of any valuables you may carry on your person

– Be mindful of your surroundings

– If confronted, give the perpetrator what they ask for. Your safety is more important.
