The career center is hosting its annual Education Interview Day on Wednesday for students in the College of Education pursuing full time teaching positions.

From 9-10 a.m., students will have the opportunity to talk to 64 different school districts that are present. At this time, students will be able to schedule interviews with districts for later that day.

The school districts will be conducting in-person one-on-one 20 minute interviews with students at tables set up in the ballroom from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“This will give them a chance to know the student better and a little bit more in depth,” said Amanda Ingram, director of Operations at the Career Center. “Some of those interviews are enough for certain school districts, you know that might be their only step and for other districts it may be the first step of several steps of interviewing.”

Student check in is from 8-9 a.m. in the Ferguson Center theater and is mandatory to sign up for interviews.

Why: Ingram said Education Interview Day is a unique opportunity because a real interview process takes place there.

“Education Interview Day gives students the opportunity not only to network with schools and school districts from both in-state and out-of-state, but it also provides them the opportunity to actually participate in an interview and make the first step in their job search process with that school,” she said.
