The University’s Honors College is hosting a semi-formal dressed event, Spring Fling, for its students on Wednesday night at the Drish House downtown.
The event will have food and live music from The Brook and the Bluff, and buses are provided for students attending, running from the Ferguson Center to the Drish House, according to an email sent out to Honors College students.
Leah Roberts, a junior majoring in nursing, said last year was her second year to attend, and she thought it was a great social event for the college.
“It was nice to be able to hang out with a lot of people that I have classes with outside of class,” she said. “It was also nice to be able to dress up and dance all night.”
WHO: Students in the Honors College
WHAT: Honors College Spring Fling social event. The fling will have live music and food included.
WHEN: Wednesday from 8-11 p.m.
WHERE: The Drish House, located at 2300 17th Street.
WHY: “Honors College students are invited to celebrate the impending end of the semester with music and snacks at the ‘Spring Fling,’” according to the University’s events calendar.
Roberts said she feels like Honors College students do not have as many planned social events as other student organizations, so she appreciates celebrating the accomplishments of honors students at Spring Fling.
“I think it’s important that the honors students be celebrated for their accomplishments and have a place to get together with each other and be in community with each other,” she said.
