Senior centerfielder Haylie McCleney was selected 13th overall by the USSSA Pride in the National Pro Fastpitch Draft on Thursday night.
McCleney is the 11th Alabama softball player to be drafted and first since 2011. She joins former All-American Kelly Kretschman on the Pride.
This season, McCleney leads the team in batting average (.459), on-base percentage (.602) and slugging percentage (.704). She holds the Alabama career batting average (.450) and on-base percentage (.568) records. McCleney is a three-time All-American and a two-time Academic All-American.
