On Sunday, the men’s basketball team beat the Florida Gators 61-55 to snap an 11-game losing streak in the series and secured the Crimson Tide’s first victory in Gainesville, Florida, since Feb. 25 1995.
Retin Obasohan led the team with a game-high 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds, but Alabama (15-9, 6-6 SEC) was forced to win it without him when he fouled out with 5:35 to play. Arthur Edwards followed Obasohan 13 seconds later when he too fouled out.
Jimmie Taylor finished with 11 points and five blocked shots. Justin Coleman and Shannon Hale both finished with 10 points.
The Crimson Tide will travel to LSU on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. CT tipoff on the SEC Network.
