CB Tony Brown sent home for violation of team rules

DALLAS — Defensive back Tony Brown has been sent home from Dallas the day before the 2015 Cotton Bowl for a violation of team rules, Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a release.

Brown, a sophomore, played in 13 games this season and recorded 16 tackles and one tackle for loss. He forced a fumble in the SEC Championship Game against Florida. The dual-sport athlete also runs track and was named a first team All-American in the 4×100 relay after finishing eighth at the 2015 NCAA outdoor championships.
