For the third consecutive week the SEC honored an Alabama player, but this week it selected two of them.
On Monday, the league selected Derrick Henry to be the offensive player of the week for the third time this year after he rushed a career high 32 times for a career high 236 yards in Alabama’s 41-23 victory over No. 9 Texas A&M.
Henry also picked up two rushing touchdowns to extend his streak of consecutive games with a rushing touchdown to 12. He is the first Alabama running back to rush for more than 200 yards since former Alabama running back Trent Richardson did so in 2011.
Minkah Fitzpatrick was selected to be the Southeastern Conference Freshman Player of the week after he returned two interceptions for a total of 88 yards and two scores. He is the only Alabama player to record two pick sixes in one game.
Fitzpatrick also recorded two solo tackles and was recognized as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.
