A former University of Alabama computer science instructor was arrested Feb. 5 for a felony ethics charge, according to AL.com. Charles Christopher Horton allegedly made $378,022.99 from requiring students to buy textbooks from a company he owned, Josserand Company, LLC. Horton, who hasn’t taught at the University since fall 2013, was released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $10,000 bond. The Alabama Ethics Commission began investigating Horton and the company after The University of Alabama reported the situation. The company registered to Horton was formed in late 2011, according to the Alabama Secretary of State’s website.
