The Alabama Frozen Tide hockey team won two games over the weekend and clinched a spot in the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Division III National Tournament. The Frozen Tide defeated South Carolina 4-3 in overtime on Friday and Arkansas 4-3 on Saturday.
“We’re pretty excited about it,” head coach Mike Quenneville said. “We were an underdog playing Arkansas. So going into it we knew what we had to do to beat them and we did it. We stuck to the game plan. So we’re very thrilled to represent the South and the Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference and The University of Alabama.”
The nationals will be held March 12-16 in Springfield, Mo.
