Second-year head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide signed the No. 3 recruiting class for 2025, which also includes multiple key transfers.
Alabama’s roster for 2025 is in a good position with a lot of depth, but with an abundance of incoming talent, there will be a few new faces with the potential to make a name for themselves.
Isaiah Horton, wide receiver
Alabama landed Horton out of the transfer portal from Miami, and he’ll provide an immediate benefit to the offense. Horton will be put in a role player position as a true physical wide receiver who adds experience and depth to an already established and proven wide receiver room.
In 2024 with Miami, Horton recorded 56 receptions for 616 yards and five touchdowns.
Under the guidance of wide receiver coach JaMarcus Shephard, and alongside major skill in the wide receiver room, Horton is poised to be a major contributor next season.
“The No. 1 [thing] I liked about him is his attitude and approach to the game of football,” former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe said after working with Horton at Alabama’s pro day session. “He has good hands, good feet and I just like how he approaches football, and I see that with his passion for the game.”
Cam Calhoun, cornerback
Calhoun committed to Alabama out of the transfer portal after previously spending a season with the Utah Utes and not seeing much playing time, recording 12 tackles and an interception. Though he didn’t play much last season, he will enter a defensive back room needing experience and guidance and have the opportunity to provide those skills.
Calhoun has been making early waves in spring practice.
“He has a maturity about him,” defensive coordinator Kane Wommack said. “You can tell this dude’s been a seasoned player at a place that’s established itself as one of the great defenses year in and year out.”
With experience at a Power Four school and as a former 4-star recruit, he can make a name for himself alongside others like Zabien Brown and Domani Jackson.
Dijon Lee, cornerback
As a 5-star recruit rated as the No. 4 cornerback in the nation, Lee has the skill and ability to earn himself a role in the defensive back lineup next season.
In his senior year, he recorded 52 tackles, two pass deflections, four interceptions and a fumble recovery at Mission Viejo High School in California.
After already gaining attention in spring practice, he has the potential to earn a spot in the defensive back rotation and make waves next season.
“That man is making a very great impact already as a true freshman,” incoming freshman and former 5-star quarterback Keelon Russell said after a practice in March.
