`Alabama gymnastics placed second at a quad meet against Denver, Michigan, and Bowling Green State. Alabama finished with 196.175 points, one-tenth of a point behind Denver.
No. 2 Clemson defeated No. 1 Alabama in the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship by a score of 44-16. Freshman QB Trevor Lawrence, Sophomore RB Travis Etienne and Freshman WR Justyn Ross combined for a spectacular offensive performance, outplaying the Alabama defense throughout the game.
University Programs' Stress Free Daze took a new form on Dec. 5, encouraging students to dress in ugly holiday sweaters. Visitors had the opportunity to decorate sweaters and ornaments, and make candles and snowglobes. A DJ, giant chess and gingerbread cookies were other highlights.
Tide Talks, held on Nov. 30, showcased four student speakers – Sam Raburn, Kayleigh Meighan, Ilham Ali, and Samuel Shallenberger. Each student shared a "revolutionary idea" that was impacted by their experiences on campus.
No. 1 Alabama defeated Auburn by a score of 52-21. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa broke a school record for most touchdowns responsible for in a single game, scoring one rushing and five passing touchdowns.
Local families visit UA sororities during Holly Jolly Holiday on Sorority Row on Sunday, Nov. 18. The event, sponsored by UA Panhellenic, invited guests to join them in decorating cookies, singing carols and voting on the best-decorated tree.
