Addiction recovery programs praise peer support

College campuses can be oversaturated with alcohol, drugs and other addictive substances. The University of Alabama’s Collegiate Recovery and Intervention Services is arming students struggling with substance use, as well as their peers, with knowledge and resources to treat addiction.

Life-saving training offered at University

The University of Alabama offers Save a Life Training (SALT) and ‘Stop the Bleed’ training for faculty, staff and students for free to ensure the safety of all on campus. The instructors train participants through repetition with enthusiasm and keep the environment energized to hold their attention.

The Black Warrior Film Festival was a two-day event that took place Feb. 21 and 22 at the Ferguson Student Center. This festival is a platform for students to showcase their pieces, while also learning the ins and outs of the industry. Screening films from students across the nation, the festival is a competitive yet awe-inspiring production.
