Students looking to live off-campus have a lot of options. Probably too many options. The Tuscaloosa City Council recently voted in favor of a moratorium on student mega-complexes—meaning any building with more than 199 bedrooms, which are typically portioned off into four or five-bedroom apartments. While the moratorium may have some economic pitfalls, city officials say it’s necessary to keep supply from outpacing demand. Read it online or in the special edition.
