On Thursday, University professor Alan Lane, A.K.A. Doobie “Doghouse” Wilson, will team up with the UA Community Service Center to tackle hunger and homelessness issues in America. He will perform in a benefit concert to debut his new album, “Too Wet For Comfort.”

The concert is the first event for the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week which last from February 15-19. It begins at 9pm at Jupiter Bar and Grill and tickets can be purchased at the door for $5. UA Students may use their BAMA Cash. All proceeds from ticket sales and CD sales go to benefit West Alabama Food Bank.

Robert Maxwell, a junior majoring in Economics and Management, is the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Advocate for the UA Community Service Center.

“This event is our weeklong showcase of the various service projects and volunteer opportunities available for students to participate in,” Maxwell said. “It is also a time when we work with our partner organizations in the community, such as Jesus Way Shelter and The West Alabama Food Bank.”
