Tomorrow is April Fools’ Day. Whether you’ve been planning the perfect prank for weeks or don’t even remember what all the hubbub is about, here are some recipes that are great for a laugh.
April Fools French Fries: Cinnamon sticks

Ingredients:
-Vegetable oil
-1/2 cup sugar
-2 tablespoons cinnamon
-Stale white bread
-Strawberry jelly for dipping
Directions:
1. Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil to 365 degrees Fahrenheit in a deep skillet
2. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons cinnamon on a plate
3. Cut stale white bread into sticks and fry until golden, about 1 minute
4. Drain on paper towels, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar while still hot
5. Serve with strawberry jelly as ketchup
April Fools Stir-fry: Fruit and Nut trail mix

Ingredients:
-Fruit Roll-Ups, 2 to 3 green rolls and 1 red roll
-1 1/2 teaspoons hulled sunflower seeds
-1 1/2 cups dried apple rings
-3/4 cup dried pineapple chunks
-1/2 cup cashews
Directions:
1. To make pea pods, cut a 2 1/4-inch square from a green fruit roll
2. Arrange five or six sunflower seeds (for peas) on the strip in a vertical row, just off center
3. Fold the strip in half over the seeds and press the edges together to seal them
4. Use a butter knife or kitchen scissors to trim the sealed edges into a rounded pod shape
5. Cut the red fruit roll into thin pepper strips and the apple rings into bite-size chicken pieces
6. (For full effect) combine pea pods, pepper strips, chicken pieces, pineapple chunks, and cashews in a frying pan, or serve the mix on plates with chopsticks
Yield: 3 cups
April Fools Cupcakes: Meatloaf and Potatoes

Ingredients
MEAT LOAF:
-1 pound lean ground beef
-1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
-1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
-3 tablespoons ketchup
-1 egg
-1/2 teaspoon celery salt
-1/4 teaspoon pepper
POTATO FROSTING:
-3 cups mashed potatoes
-Food coloring
Directions
1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Line 12 muffin tin cups with foil bake cups
2. In a large bowl, mix together all of the meat loaf ingredients until well combined. Divide the mixture evenly among the lined cups (the liners should be about three quarters full)
3. Place the filled muffin tins on cookie sheets and bake the cupcakes for about 15 minutes or until cooked through
4. Divide the mashed potatoes among three small bowls and stir a few drops of food coloring into each batch to create blue, yellow and pink pastel frostings. Spread generous dollop on each cupcake
Yield: 12 cupcakes
April Fools Berry Soda: Berry Jello

Ingredients
-2 packages (3 ounces each) strawberry gelatin
-3/4 cup sliced fresh strawberries
-3/4 cup fresh raspberries
-3/4 cup fresh blueberries
Directions
1. Prepare gelatin according to package directions
2. Refrigerate until partially set, about 2 hours
3. Stir in berries. Pour into six tall drink or soda glasses. Insert a straw into each glass.
4. Refrigerate until set.
Yield: 6 servings
April Fools Bagel: Doughnut Sandwich

Ingredients
-1 cake doughnut
-1-2 tablespoons honey
-1-2 tablespoons chocolate-toffee bits
– 1/4 cup cream cheese
– 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
– 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
– papaya or mango, thinly sliced
– red and green gummy candies
Directions
1. Slice a plain cake doughnut in half. Brush the top with honey and sprinkle with chopped chocolate-toffee bits.
2. Beat 1/4 cup cream cheese, 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3. Spread on the bottom doughnut half. Top with thinly sliced papaya or mango to fake the smoked salmon
4. For tomato and scallions, roll out a red gummy candy and chop up a green gummy candy.
