Alabama women’s golf turned in a performance for the record books on Sunday in Norman, Oklahoma, shooting a three-round total of 45-under par, which is a new NCAA record, to win the Schooner Fall Classic by 17 shots over Texas.

The team set school records in 54-hole aggregate score (807; broke record by 18 strokes), 36-hole aggregate score (535), 18-hole aggregate score (262), and 36-hole score in relation to par (-34).

Junior Jiwon Jeon won individual medalist honors in her second tournament at Alabama after spending two years in junior college. She set school records with scores of 17-under par 196 over the full tournament and 12-under par 130 over the first two days.

Jeon won by three strokes over her teammate, senior Lauren Stephenson, whose score of 199 (-14) ranks alongside Jeons 196 as the only two 54-hole scores in team history below 200.

Sophomore Angelica Moresco recorded a career-high finish, tying for eighth, 10 shots behind Jeon. Junior Kristen Gillman tied for 10th another shot behind, and junior Kenzie Wright tied for 32nd.

Gillman, Stephenson and Jeon are all ranked in the top nine of the World Women’s Amateur Golf Ranking, coming in at third, fifth and ninth, respectively.

Alabama will have three weeks off from competition before returning at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational from Oct. 19-21 in Gillman’s hometown of Austin, Texas.
