Tuscaloosa’s favorite gyro spot is bound for a new location. Glory Bound Gyro Co. is moving from its previous location, Brown’s Corner, to replace the spot once held by Steamer’s on The Strip.

Along with the new location, the owner of Glory Bound, Nick Chichester, said the restaurant will feature other exciting developments customers might not be expecting.

While Glory Bound will still offer the classic menu favorites and specials customers love, it is also introducing a multitude of new options. These include an expanded bar menu, with plenty of never-before-seen choices, and one particularly intriguing addition to the Glory Bound lineup: pizzas.

Chichester said he is excited to open up and see familiar faces in the restaurant. He is especially looking forward to the loyal university students finding their way to The Strip and enjoying the new and improved Glory Bound experience.

While transitioning the restaurant to a busy street may seem intimidating, Chichester said he has nothing but appreciation for the opportunity.

“Tuscaloosa has been a good friend of Glory Bound since we moved here, and who wouldn’t want to be on The Strip, right?” he said.

University of Alabama student Henry Pitts, a Tuscaloosa native, has witnessed Glory Bound’s journey from the beginning. This gives him a special perspective on the restaurant’s new location.

“Though I loved the old Glory Bound, I am incredibly excited it will be so much closer to campus at its new location on The Strip,” Pitts said.

He also pointed out that it will be more convenient for students to walk over to Glory Bound and grab a bite between classes.

With this in mind, if you can’t wait to give the Glory Bound pizza a shot, check out their new space or just get your hands on the delicious gyros that have been absent from your life for far too long – you’re in luck. The wait is almost over as Glory Bound Gyro Co. is set to open by the end of July.
