Tuscaloosa is getting a taste of outlaw country music mixed with the heartland sounds of John Mellencamp or Bruce Springsteen’s music this weekend. Tomorrow, Saturday, March 24, Brantley Gilbert is set to perform at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater as part of his “The Ones That Like Me” tour.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are on sale now for $29.75. Josh Phillips and Aaron Lewis will also be performing during Gilbert’s concert.
Gilbert is an American country singer, songwriter and record producer from Jefferson, Georgia. He has released three studio albums while signed to the Valory division of Big Machine Records that include “Halfway to Heaven,” “Just As I Am,” and “The Devil Don’t Sleep.” To add to these impressive feats, four out of 11 of Gilbert’s country chart entries have hit the number one spot.
For any Jason Aldean fans out there, Gilbert also wrote Aldean’s singles “My Kinda Party” and “Dirt Road Anthem.”
Lewis is a neo-traditional country musician that will perform alongside Gilbert at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. He will be promoting his new album, “Sinner.”
Fans of the alternative rock band “Staind” may recognize Lewis as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and founding member of the band.
Phillips is a part of the “The Ones That Like Me” tour with Gilbert. He is a country and rock singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist from Sanford, North Carolina.
His style is urban country with a hip hop delivery. Phillips’ goal is to create music that offers something new.
“This isn’t straight ahead country, or another southern rock sound,” Phillips said on his Facebook page. “I don’t see myself blending in, when I want to create music that stands out.”
