What: Mardi Gras celebration
Who: University Programs is hosting the event for students
When: Feb. 8, 7-10 p.m.
Where: 2nd floor of the Ferguson Student Center
Why:
“We are hosting Mardi Gras to provide students with an opportunity to learn about its history and culture in a safe, non-alcoholic environment,” said Shemaiah Kenon, special events coordinator.
The event will feature a live jazz band, DJ, DIY area featuring tie-dye, masks, hats and beads. The event will also be giving away general scholarships, Nintendo Switches, Firesticks and more. Mardi Gras will have over 1,000 pounds of crawfish, Mardi Gras chicken and gumbo (both vegetarian, chicken and seafood).
If students have VIP fast passes from previous University Program events, they can use those to skip the line at check-in.
