WHAT: Free restorative yoga weekly class
WHO: All students, faculty and staff are invited to bring their mat and attend, hosted by University Libraries
WHERE: Gorgas Library, Room 205
WHEN: Tuesday, Jan. 16, 12:15-12:45 p.m.
This is a weekly event until March 6
WHY: As part of their mission plan, University Libraries is sponsoring these yoga classes to promote the health and well-being of UA students. The classes will be instructed by Millie Jackson, a certified restorative yoga teacher.
“Restorative yoga is different than what you might think of yoga,” said Jackson. “It’s meant to be restful, so you just do two or three poses throughout the class so that you can just relax.”
Restorative yoga helps combat stress, which can be especially helpful to students and faculty on campus.
“I think it’s beneficial to anybody,” said Jackson. “It’s a good way to relieve stress or just take some time in the middle of the day stop, relax and be still.”
