Due to the few days that UA students have off for Thanksgiving, many people who live out of state are not able to go home. As a result, many of The University of Alabama’s students stay in Tuscaloosa over Thanksgiving break. However, just because you can’t go home doesn’t mean that you can’t have a Thanksgiving meal. Here are a list of restaurants and what they will be serving on Thanksgiving Day. Turkey, dressing and all the trimmings are included.
The Side by Side Restaurant
The Side by Side Restaurant, located inside the Embassy Suites in downtown Tuscaloosa, will be open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. They will be serving their regular entrees and adding turkey to their menu.
Cypress Inn Restaurant
From 11 a.m.-2 p.m., The Cypress Inn will be will be serving a Thanksgiving lunch including, but not limited to ham, turkey, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and stuffing. Additionally, there will be a Thanksgiving lunch served buffet style at the pavilion, which is next door to the restaurant. Lastly, the restaurant will stop taking reservations after 11 a.m. for Thanksgiving Day, but they will be accommodating walk-ins as well.
Metro Diner
The Metro Diner will be open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. They will be serving regular entrees in addition to a stuffing waffle, a celebratory addition to their menu.
Waffle House
The most tried and true of diners, Waffle House is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For a quirky breakfast spin on a traditional Thanksgiving meal, recruit your other campus-bound pals for a feast of affordable waffles and plates.
