Druid City Music Hall is hosting Whitey Morgan (a.k.a Eric Allen) with Ward Davis this Friday to kick off Morgan’s 2017 tour. His tour will begin in Tuscaloosa and end in Glasgow, Ky., at the Plaza Theatre.
Morgan doesn’t fit the generic pop-country style that is the norm today, but he stays true to old country sound, as is featured in his songs “Me and the Whiskey” and “Still Drunk, Still Crazy, Still Blue.”
Whitey Morgan and the 78’s are a band out of Flint, Michigan. The band released its debut album “Honky Tonks and Cheap Motels” in 2008. They went on to release the self-titled album “Whitey Morgan and the 78’s” in 2010. In 2015, Morgan released his most recent album “Sonic Ranch.”
He is currently signed with Bloodshot Records as of 2009.
“Sonic Ranch” features his newest hit songs “Waitin’ Round to Die” and “Drunken Nights in the City.”
Whitey Morgan will be performing on tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. with doors at 7:30 at Druid City Music Hall.
