The Beach Boys will bring their classic “Good Vibrations” to the Birmingham this weekend.
This Saturday Nov. 4, the legendary rockers will perform at The Alabama Theater in Birmingham from 7:30 p.m. to 10.
The act features performers Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, Jeffrey Foskett, Brian Eichenburger, Scott Totten, Tim Bonhomme and John Cowsill. Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks will not be present on the tour.
Established in 1961, The Beach Boys became the quintessential American rock band, selling over 100 million records internationally, successfully topping many commercial charts and influencing many musicians for decades afterwards. They shaped and pioneered the sound of beach rock and became a symbol of the counterculture movement in the 60s. Their best known hits include “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations,” “God Only Knows,” “I Get Around,” “Surfin’ U.S.A” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.”
On top of being a vocalist and co-founder of The Beach Boys, Mike Love has penned some of the band’s greatest hits, such as “Good Vibrations,” “California Girls,” “Surfin’ Safari,” “Help Me, Rhonda,” “All I Wanna Do” and more. He currently leads the present tour.
Bruce Johnston is one of the band’s original members, having produced and contributed on several albums, as well as collaborated with Barry Manilow on his 1975 song “I Write the Songs.”
