Two downtown spots are coming together tonight to host a community block party.
Local beer hub Loosa and coffee-infused gathering place UPerk are collaborating to put on Beans & Brews Block Party, which will take place tonight from 6 p.m. to 10.
Loosa and UPerk are located across from each other, and the family-friendly event will occur in open area between the two: the intersection of 20th Avenue and University Boulevard.
A festival of sorts, proceeds from the event will Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry at Grace Presbyterian Church. There’s no cover charge for festival-goers, but attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods.
The event will feature food trucks, local bands and vendors, as well as refreshments from the event’s two hosts: Loosa and UPerk. Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, Cosmic Corn and La Mexicana will be on site too. Local artists will also be selling their work.
Joe & Jana, Kortnie Heying & Band and the Gio Trio are some of the featured performers, with performances beginner at 6 p.m.
In addition to the event benefitting Loaves and Fishes, other Tuscaloosa community organizations like Dance Marathon will be in attendance as well.
