The Mulligan Brothers will perform with special guests The Parkers for this month’s Acoustic Night. The doors of the Bama Theatre’s Greensboro room will open at 6:30 p.m. on July 21. The Americana, bluegrass, folk, songwriter group from Mobile, Alabama will perform hits from both of their albums. 

“We’re very excited to be returning to the Bama Theatre, they have a great room with an enthusiastic crowd,” said, Ross Newell, lead singer of The Mulligan Brothers. “We are beginning to buckle down the process and start working on our next album. Aiming to having a record release towards the first of the year.” 

The band recently released their album “The Mulligan Brothers Live From The Netherlands” this past April after returning to the states. They performed two albums live to produce a score with a responsive crowd. 

“I have always listened to live albums and felt inspired to design one,” said Newell. “When we toured our first time we made note of how enthusiastic the crowd was in the Netherlands. They would share eagerness and politeness at the best time.”

The University of Alabama crowd and the Netherlands share similar characteristics when The Mulligan Brothers perform, and they are eager to play at the theatre.

“We chose the Netherlands because of the electric audience and the energy they create,” said Newell. “We are always excited to visit the [Bama] theatre, because of how they respond to us.” 

The Bama Theatre has been preparing for tonight’s acoustic performance and is excited about the special guests, David Allgood, the manager of the theatre, said. The group is performing for thee fourth time in celebration of Allgood’s retirement as manager of the Bama Theatre. 

“I am excited about the show and tickets have been going fast, so we expect a good crowd,” said Allgood. “We have prepared for a large, excited group for the return of The Mulligan Brothers.”
