A video leaked of Donald Trump making lewd comments about a woman prior to his 2005 appearance on Access Hollywood has caused major unrest within the Republican Party.
Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence, first tried to brush off the video footage, but Trump eventually issued an apology video last Friday afternoon.
Numerous Republican politicians have revoked their endorsements of Trump, some even calling on him to leave the race.
“As the father of three daughters,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. “I strongly believe that Trump needs to apologize directly to women and girls everywhere, and take full responsibility for the utter lack of respect for women shown in his comments on that tape.”
“Donald Trump’s behavior makes him unacceptable as a candidate for president, and I won’t vote for him,” said Congresswoman Martha Roby, R-Ala. in a statement.
Alabama politicians, such as Gov. Robert Bentley and Congressman Bradley Byrne. have also withdrawn their support of the GOP nominee.
