Netflix offers viewers a great opportunity to expand their horizons with a wide selection of TV shows and movies they might not have considered watching in theaters or on cable. In addition, the streaming service also provides an array of entertainment from all around the world, creating an outlet where viewers can try and watch something completely different than what they think is normal. Enter “The I.T. Crowd”.
“The I.T. Crowd” is a British sitcom that concerns three tech workers at a company in London, dealing with the everyday nature of their job. The show feels a lot like a cross between “The Big Bang Theory” and “The Office” in that its humor is dry and based around the misadventures of three people who don’t have the best social graces.
“The I.T. Crowd” stars a few actors that are no stranger to U.S. entertainment, including Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade and Katherine Parkinson. O’Dowd has been featured in several projects in the U.S., including a prominent role in “Bridesmaids” alongside Kristen Wiig. Ayoade starred in “The Watch” alongside Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill.
Similar to “The Office”, this show was set to have an American counterpart, but it never got past an initial pilot.
“The I.T. Crowd” is available on Netflix, with five series (or seasons), that can be binge-watched quickly. With episodes at about half an hour in length, this is a great show to get home from class and turn on for a little before starting on studying. Full of sarcasm and cringe-worthy social situations, this is a show that is great for people who want to relax and check out.
