Thank you for helping when no one else would

Saturday night my husband and I attended the football game, as we do every week.

This past Saturday on the way back to our vehicle after the game, I had an accident. As we were walking, I tripped on a sidewalk where the cement was not level at all. In tripping on the sidewalk I hit my face on the left side. While my husband was laying me down, after trying to get up, a young student stopped by and began assisting my husband. The student called for help. While help was on the way he sat down by me, held my hand and kept me alert. He continued to do so until help arrived. The fire department and medics came and took over.

I do not know this young man’s name, but I just want to say to him how much my husband and I appreciate what he did. He could have kept walking like others did, but he stopped and helped me.  Words cannot express what my heart feels for what this young man did to help someone he didn’t know. My prayers and thanks, along with the men of the fire department and the medics, go out to this young man. The University has to be proud of their young people attending the University. The University of Alabama is #1 in my heart and always will be.
