SGA President Lillian Roth will seek re-election, possibly without the support of the Machine, according to two senior Roth administration officials.
The Machine is a select coalition of UA fraternities and sororities designed to influence campus policies.
Both officials confirmed Roth was backed by the Machine during the previous SGA election. One official said Roth will run “with or without the backing” of the Machine for the upcoming election.
“You know, you’d have to ask the Machine what they’re gonna do at the end of the day but she’s running with or without the backing,” one official said.
Both officials said Roth remains committed to representing all members of the University. One official said who does or does not support Roth is irrelevant.
“She’s really excited. Her record stands for herself, and I think the voters will recognize that too,” one official said.
