The room at Chi Omega grew quiet as the 2017-2018 SGA election results were read online. When it was revealed that Jared Hunter had unofficially won the race with 54 percent of the vote, the room went completely silent.
After the hugs, tears, and thanks for all the campaign help, SGA President Lillian Roth said she and her campaign gave all they could, and she is excited for Hunter.
“I’m hopeful that I’m going to be able to serve students in some capacity, and I’m looking forward to finishing out the remainder of my term,” she said.
Additionally, Roth said she would not change anything about her campaign.
“I’m really excited with how we ran things and I’m really appreciative of all those that went out and supported me today and throughout the entirety of the campaign,” Roth said.
Roth said she wishes Hunter the best of luck as he transitions to his new role as SGA president.
“I hope that he can actually maintain to serve every student regardless of others influencing him,” she said.
