University of Alabama students and professionals from around the country are invited to attend an event dedicated to networking and learning from professionals in the fields of investing and finance known as the annual Capstone Student Investment Conference.
WHO: Anyone who registers is welcome to attend the conference. Professionals must pay a $99 registration fee, while students have to pay $25. The fee covers admission to all the events, handout materials, continental breakfast, refreshment breaks and lunch.
Speakers will include Howard Marks, co-chairman of Oaktree Capital; Heath Terry, managing director of Goldman Sachs; Jayme Wiggins, chief investment officer of Intrepid Capital, among a long list of others.
WHAT: The 2017 Capstone Student Investment Conference is an all-day event dedicated to bring together students and professionals from around the country that work in investing and finance. Attendees will hear from a panel of speakers from prominent firms around the country.
WHERE: The Bryant Conference Center is hosting the event. Many hotels around Tuscaloosa are offering discounted rates and room blocks for attendees coming in from out of town.
WHEN: The conference will take place Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
WHY: “They [attendees] will learn from and interact with a distinguished panel of speakers who will share their expertise and insight, providing both timely advice on navigating today’s investment environment and timeless wisdom on navigating ever-changing financial markets to come,” the university training website stated.
They believe those attending will benefit from meeting like-minded peers from around the country who have similar interests and aspirations, as well as individuals who want to start building a network that can pay dividends far into their future.
