There is now an easier way to order a sandwich through Julia’s Market in Tutwiler.

Julia’s now has a link under the student tab in myBama for online ordering during Julia’s operating hours.

“The online service is available to anyone,” said Kelsey Faust, marketing manager for Bama Dining. “Students, faculty, staff and the local community can go to bamadining.webfood.com, create a new user account and place their order.”

Matt Harris, an SGA senator from the College of Commerce and Business Administration, originally wrote the resolution. Most students were unaware there was an option to order Julia’s on the Bama Dining website, Harris said. He said the link would be better utilized on myBama.

“Julia’s has a link on myBama, because it already had an online ordering link on the Bama Dining website,” Harris said. “The link was just moved to the student tab of the myBama website.  Also, with 13 floors of girls living in Tutwiler, and students regularly using the math lab, the link should attract a large target market and should benefit students.

“The system is already off to a great start.”

The online ordering system is meant to make it easier to order a sandwich from anywhere, especially the math lab and Tutwiler residents, and pick it up on the way out, according to a press release.

Students are only able to order Boar’s Head Deli sandwiches, wraps and paninis at this time, Harris said.

To order a sandwich through the link on myBama, click on “Julia’s Market Online Ordering” on the student tab under Bama Dining. Students will create a new user account and are able to order just as they would at the Julia’s location.

The estimated wait time is about 15 minutes, Faust said.

As far as affecting the business of other dining halls across campus, Harris said the link has not be in place long enough to get a valid estimate.

Both Harris and Faust agree there are no glitches in the system as of now, but Harris is open to ideas on how to improve the system.
