As the first full week of classes comes to an end, Tuscaloosa will welcome a variety of bands for performances this weekend.
Ben Rector, a pop rock singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee, will take the stage at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater at 8 p.m. on Friday night. The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater continues to entertain this weekend as The Australian Pink Floyd Show takes the stage on Saturday at 8 p.m., bringing with them the sound and look of the progressive rock band, Pink Floyd. As a tribute band based in Sydney, Australia, the members of the show use large screens, lights and inflatables to recreate the feeling of the Pink Floyd. At Druid City Music Hall, progressive funk band Earphunk, joined by Little Raine Band, will perform Friday night at 8:30 p.m. Tickets can be bought online at www.druidcitymusichall.com for $10 or $15 at the door.
Rounding out the weekend, Atlanta psych rock band A Drug Called Tradition will be playing at Green Bar at 9 p.m. on Friday night alongside Spaceface and Swear Tapes. At 8 p.m on Saturday, burlesque and vaudeville performers Pink Box Burlesque will take the stage to bring a variety show of music and comedy to Tuscaloosa.
