T.J. Simmons signed with Alabama on Wednesday.
He is one of eight early enrollees already on campus. He played wide receiver in high school at Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, Alabama. He’s 6-foot-2, weighs 180 pounds and was rated as a 3-star prospect by 247 Sports.
Simmons helped Clay-Chalkville win the Class 6A State Title as a junior and helped the Cougars get back to the title game this past season. He finished his senior season with 47 catches for 1,228 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Back in the Summer, Simmons, already an Alabama commit, said his visits to Tuscaloosa helped him make his decision.
“Actually, I grew up an Auburn fan, and around ninth, tenth grade, I started going to Alabama games and seeing the atmosphere and the fans [and] stuff like that,” Simmons said.
