Jason Black, associate professor of rhetoric and public discourse and affiliate professor of gender and race studies, was named the winner of the 2015 Southern States Communication Association Gender Scholar of the Year Award, according to UA News. Black is the author of “An Archive of Hope: Harvey Milk’s Speeches and Writings” and “American Indians and the Rhetoric of Removal and Allotment.” He is the first man to receive this award in its 28-year history.
