The deadline for priority registration for Lavender Graduation is April 13, with the actual event on April 20 at 7 p.m. in Shelby 1093. Lavender Graduation began in spring of 2011 as a way to celebrate the achievements of LGBT students as they graduate from any degree program offered at The University of Alabama. The featured speaker for the 2015 graduation ceremony will be State Representative Patricia Todd. Todd represents District 54 in Birmingham in the Alabama House of Representatives and is the first and only openly gay elected official in the state. Graduates honored at Lavender Graduation will be given a certificate and a rainbow tassel. For more information and to access the registration link, visit the Capstone Alliance website.
