Alabama sprinter Remona Burchell was named a co-winner of the track and field Division I National Athlete of the Week award by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday. Burchell, the 2014 NCAA indoor 60-meter champion and the 2014 NCAA outdoor 100-meter champion, claimed the top spot in the women’s 60-meter dash in Saturday’s SEC championship and set a new collegiate record with a time of 7.08 seconds. Her time is the second fastest in the world this season.
