Students may have one more expense to pile onto their plate in coming semesters. The University has announced a plan to require all students living on-campus to purchase a meal plan. The meal plan requirement was previously only for freshman students, but now anyone living in a residence hall will have to pay $1,200 per semester for a plan.

The Tuscaloosa City Council recently voted in favor of a moratorium on student mega-complexes—meaning any building with more than 199 bedrooms, which are typically portioned off into four or five-bedroom apartments.
