PRACTICE REPORT: Tagovailoa present, cornerback limited
More stories from James Ogletree
Alabama was inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility on a chilly Tuesday afternoon to continue preparing for Mississippi State. Here are our observations from practice:
Junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (ankle) was present at practice but did not throw any passes during the viewing period. He was reading a sheet of paper with offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and he did not have any brace or sleeve on his right leg. Redshirt sophomore Mac Jones took the first reps and freshman Taulia Tagovailoa was second.
Senior cornerback Trevon Diggs had a brace on his left leg and was not participating in any team or individual drills.
Strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran was standing near the defensive backs, who were in pairs practicing jamming each other’s chests. While freshman safety DeMarcco Hellams was jamming junior safety Xavier McKinney, Cochran said, “That’s so sweet!” Cochran yelled at another player, “Hit his ass!”
Redshirt freshman running back Jerome Ford was not with the RB group during individual drills but was spotted at the end of the viewing period.
Redshirt sophomore inside linebacker Markail Benton was present and still had a sleeve on his left leg.
