PRACTICE REPORT: Nose guard limited during Monday practice

CW / Hannah Saad

Alabama was back to work on Monday after the 46-41 loss to LSU it suffered on Saturday. Here are our observations from Monday’s practice:

Junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was not seen at practice during the media viewing period. This was expected as coach Nick Saban said that Tagovailoa’s ankle was sore and they were going to hold him out of Monday’s practice during his press conference.

The defensive linemen were in units of three or four and worked on explosive starts during the media viewing period. Freshman D.J. Dale was seen but was limited during practice as he stood toward the back of the group. With Dale out, senior Raekwon Davis lined up next to freshman Phidarian Mathis and Byron Young.  The second group was a unit of four players that consisted of Christian Barmore, Stephon Wynn Jr., Tevita Musika and Justin Eboigbe.

Tight end Miller Forristall was also not spotted during the media viewing period as he continues to recover from an injury to his throat. With Forristall out, Major Tennison led the group through individual drills followed by Cameron Latu, Jahleel Billingsley and Giles Amos.

Sophomore inside linebacker Ale Kaho was spotted at practice on Monday but was still wearing a cast over his broken right hand. The linebackers were in pairs during the viewing period and worked on pre-snap adjustments while in nickel.
