PRACTICE REPORT: Linebacker and running back limited

CW / Hannah Saad

Alabama continued to prepare for its Saturday showdown with SEC West rival LSU on Wednesday afternoon. Here are our observations from practice:

Junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was involved in practice. He took one rep off during the viewing period.

Redshirt sophomore linebacker Markail Benton was limited during individual drills with a sleeve on his left knee, but was working with the rest of the defense in team drills at the end of the viewing period. It looked like Benton, the starting linebacker in the team’s dime defense, was matched up on the outside, a potential preparation for LSU’s variety of formations.

Junior running back Najee Harris was going through some individual reps at less than full speed. Harris was also sitting out a rep as the viewing period ended.

Sophomore linebacker Ale Kaho’s hand was wrapped, but did not appear to be in a cast.

Freshman defensive lineman Byron Young remained with senior Raekwon Davis and fellow freshman D.J. Dale in the first trio through individual drills. Freshman Justin Eboigbe was with the second set.

On the offensive line, freshman left guard Evan Neal worked next to redshirt junior center Landon Dickerson, so it appears Neal is fully recovered from a groin strain he suffered two weeks ago against Arkansas.
