PRACTICE REPORT: Linebacker practices without cast on left hand

As preparations continue for Alabama’s much-anticipated matchup with No. 1 LSU, the Crimson Tide practiced outside for the second time this week. Here are our observations from practice:

Sophomore linebacker Ale Kaho was back at full-go this afternoon as he was not wearing a cast on his left hand and was once again wearing a crimson jersey.  Kaho was still limited through some drills that required him to catch presumably to protect the hand.

Junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was back for the second straight practice and was taking the first-reps at quarterback during the media viewing period. Tagovailoa seemed comfortable on his right ankle as he was throwing while on the move during the individual drills.

All of the starters along the offensive line were accounted for including freshman Evan Neal, who was once again practicing at the first-team left guard spot. Neal, who was limited during the bye week due to a groin injury, participated in full as the centers and the guards worked on combo blocks at practice.

Both senior defensive back Shyheim Carter and senior safety Jared Mayden practiced fully and were spotted in the dime package after being limited during the bye week. The package looked the same as far as personnel with Markail Benton being the lone linebacker and freshman safety Jordan Battle filling in for Carter when he was lined up at Star.
