PRACTICE REPORT: Linebacker still limited in Wednesday’s practice
More stories from James Benedetto
Alabama went back outside for its third practice of the week after spending back-to-back days in the indoor facility. Here are our observations from Wednesday’s practice:
Markail Benton continues to be limited during practice as he participates in certain individual drills but not in others. Benton was seen with the first team dime package toward the end of the media viewing period. He was the lone linebacker in the package that featured Shyheim Carter, Xavier McKinney, Patrick Surtain, Trevon Diggs, Jordan Battle and Jared Mayden. Benton occupies the spot that has been previously held by Shane Lee or Ale Kaho.
The defensive line and outside linebackers also worked in their dime sets at the same time as the defensive backs. Raekwon Davis was paired up with Christian Barmore while Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Lewis lined up right behind them. The second team consisted of Justin Eboigbe, Tevita Musika, Christopher Allen and Jerez Parks.
The first-team offensive line stayed the same as in the Texas A&M game with Landon Dickerson still at center and Deonte Brown at right guard. Chris Owens, who had been limited for most of the practices last week, was participating in full on Wednesday as the second-team right guard.
