Earlier today, The University of Alabama issued a bomb-threat alert for the Capstone College of Nursing building on Campus, across from the DCH. 

At 3:44 p.m., the University sent out an alert that said, “UA ALERT: A bomb threat has been reported at the Capstone College of Nursing. Please avoid the area until further notice. UAPD is on the scene with K9 units evaluating the situation. Report any unusual situations to UAPD at 205-348-5454.”

Then at 4:26 p.m., a second email from UA Alert stated, “UA Alert: All Clear – UAPD has determined there is no threat at the Capstone College of Nursing.”

Chris Bryant, assistant director of the Office of Media Relations, sent an email out at 5:04 p.m. regarding the bomb incident that occurred earlier today. 

“UAPD responded to a bomb threat at the Capstone College of Nursing on University Blvd. around 3:30 p.m. The building was evacuated, and police conducted a search with K-9 units,” the release stated. “A campus-wide alert telling people to avoid the area was sent via text message and email and posted on the UA Safety app and Twitter account. Nothing of concern was found, and students, faculty and staff were allowed to return to the building. An all-clear message was sent to the campus at 4:25 p.m.”
