PRACTICE REPORT: Football begins Texas A&M prep
More stories from James Ogletree
Some midday showers didn’t stop Alabama football from practicing outdoors on Monday afternoon. The team is returning from a bye week to get ready for its first ranked matchup of the year against Texas A&M on Saturday. Here are our observations from a brief media viewing period:
Trainers were tending to starting center Chris Owens‘ knee and he wasn’t seen participating in drills. Coach Nick Saban said earlier in the afternoon that Owens has “a little knee problem” and is questionable for Saturday’s game.
Elsewhere on the O-line, junior Alex Leatherwood and freshman Evan Neal appeared to working at left tackle and left guard.
Senior Raekwon Davis and freshmen D.J. Dale and Byron Young were the first three D-linemen through drills. Young was taking the spot of fellow freshman Justin Eboigbe, who has started the previous two games at defensive end. This does not necessarily mean anything about their playing time against Texas A&M.
