Women’s golf in 13th place after first round of SECs

The Alabama women’s golf team sits in 13th-place after the opening round of the 2019 SEC Championships at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. The Crimson Tide shot a 13-over par 301 in the round. Alabama is five strokes behind the cut line for match play on Saturday.

Jiwon Jeon lead the Crimson Tide in the tie for 19th-place posting a 1-over par 73. Junior Anna Reid carded a season-low round of 3-over 75 and is tied for 36th- place. Reid and Jeon both hold the team lead with three birdies each in their opening round.

Kenzie Wright is in 46th-place after a 4-over par 76 and Angelica Moresco finished in 54th-place with a 77. Freshman Mary Mac Trammell caps the Crimson Tide golfers with an 87, placing her in 70th-place.

No.14 Auburn and No. 12 Florida lead after the first round with a 4-under par 284. South Carolina is the only other team under par with a 1-under 287.

Alabama will tee off at 9:10 a.m. and will be paired with Texas A&M and Kentucky. Live scoring is available throughout the tournament at Golfstat.com.
