The 9th Annual Family Night at the Museum will be the evening of Feb. 9, and it is free and open to the public.

Each year the event has a theme, and this year, Education Outreach Coordinator at the Alabama Museum of Natural History Allie Sorlie said the museum is proudly doing a dinosaur theme. She said it is always welcomed and encouraged for any attendees to come dressed in their appropriate dinosaur attire, whether it be a shirt or an entire costume.

“We’re excited about this year,” Sorlie said.

Who: Graduate Student Association, Alabama Museum of Natural History and the Graduate School are hosting the event.

What: Family Night at the Museum

When: Feb. 9, from 5-8 p.m.

Where: Smith Hall and Lloyd Hall

Why:

Sorlie said the museum is excited for another year, and this event displays the highlights of the work that is taking place within various departments at the University with an interactive activity.

Sorlie said all contributors are working hard for the event to come together and have had incredible support each year.

She said since the beginning, the Tuscaloosa community has shown support, and this year they are hoping to make the event even better.

“It has become one of the largest events of the year and honestly one of our favorite ones,” Sorlie said.

Those interested in going to the event are invited to come and go as they please.
