Alabama falls to Auburn by biggest margin of season

Alabama suffered its largest margin of defeat this season, losing 84-63 to Auburn on the road.

The Crimson Tide was able to keep the contest close through the opening minutes of the first half, but big runs by Auburn helped the Tigers jump out to a 48-28 halftime lead. Auburn’s high-powered offense was just that, as the Tigers knocked down 59 percent of their shots from beyond the arc and shot 51 percent from the field overall. Alabama shot an admirable 44 percent from the field and 42 percent from three.

John Petty Jr. led the Crimson Tide offensively off the bench with 18 points, while Donta Hall grabbed 10 rebounds.

Alabama (13-8, 4-4 SEC) will return home to host Georgia on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m.
