Former Florida State professor to speak on apocalyptic images

What: A lecture on apocalyptic images in the medieval Book of Revelation.
Who: Richard K. Emmerson, former professor and chair of art history at Florida State University

Where: Smith Hall 205
Why: Richard K. Emmerson is a specialist on medieval manuscripts and handmade books of the Book of Revelation.
The event is part of the Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture series. It is a public lecture, and students, faculty and staff are welcome to go.
“Manuscripts are pretty amazing,” said Jennifer Feltman, an assistant professor of medieval art and architecture at the University of Alabama. “Emerson is a great speaker.”
Students will be able to see some of the most inventive images ever made, Feltman said.
