A-Day gives fans list of experiences surrounding the game

Alabama’s annual spring game, A-Day, is this Saturday at 1 p.m. The A-Day game will give fans a chance to see how Alabama players have progressed through spring practices. It will be the 12th A-Day Game under head coach Nick Saban.

Saturday will be a busy day in Tuscaloosa, as Alabama fans will have events that they can go to throughout the day.

Mercedes-Benz Fan Fest (8 a.m.):

Fan fest will feature free giveaways, sampling events, the Coca-Cola Kids Zone, live radio remotes, vehicle displays, the annual UA athletic apparel/game program sale and other fun fan activities open to the general public. Food vendors will also be open on the Walk of Champions Plaza starting at 8 a.m.

Fans will also have the opportunity to take free photos with Alabama’s 2017 Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff national championship trophies, which will be on display. Former Alabama players will also be on hand to sign autographs for fans.

Alumni Flag Football Game (10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m.):

This game, consisting of two 20–minute halves, will be played inside Bryant Denny Stadium and will feature former Alabama standouts. 

Annual Walk of Fame Ceremony at Denny Chimes (11:15 a.m.)

One of Alabama’s bigger traditions, the Walk of Fame Ceremony, will start at Denny Chimes at approximately 11:15 a.m. Saban and the 2017 team captains, Bradley Bozeman, Rashaan Evans, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Shaun Dion Hamilton, will address the crowd. The captains will then leave their cleats and hands imprint in the concrete, joining a long list of former Alabama star players.

Walk of Champions (11:50 a.m.):

This will be held as the Crimson Tide football team arrives at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Players like quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Damien Harris and linebacker Mack Wilson will walk past screaming fans to enter the stadium.

Home Run Derby Halftime: 

This year’s halftime entertainment will feature a home run derby. Former Alabama softball, baseball and football players will face off in an interesting competition.

Spring Awards and Fans on the Field:

At the conclusion of the game, Saban will present the spring awards to the team at midfield. After the team clears the field, for the fifth straight year at A-Day, fans will be allowed to have field access. 

Alabama vs Tennessee softball (4:30 p.m.):

The Crimson Tide softball team will host SEC arch-rival Tennessee for the first game of a three game series on Saturday at 4:30 at Rhoads Stadium. Ace Alexis Osorio and Alabama come into the game as the 17th-ranked team in the country, Tennessee is seventh.

Alabama vs Auburn baseball (7 p.m.):

Baseball coach Brad Bohannon will welcome his former school to Sewell-Thomas Stadium for the second game of a three-game series on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be significant for the Crimson Tide as it fights for a chance to play in the SEC tournament.
